2nd May

An early morning call to a 5.8 metre trailer sailer with 2 persons onboard near the top of Big Woody Island.  We towed them back to the boat harbour.

18th January

An engine fire on a 5.2 metre runabout with 5 persons onboard necessitated a tow back to the harbour from Big Woody North.

6th October

A 4.8 metre runabout with 1 person onboard broke down at the northern tip of Big Woody Island and required a tow back to the boat harbour.

20th September

A 5 metre runabout ran out of fuel near the north end of Big Woody Island and was towed back to the boat harbour.

7th September

A 4.8 metre half cabin, with 3 persons onboard, lost its propellor and shaft near the northern tip of Big Woody Island. The vessel was towed back to the boat harbour.

13th May

Early afternoon an 11 metre cruiser near EU2 with 6 people on board was unable to start its engines. Our rescue vessel towed them back to the boat harbour. Just after nightfall a 4.5 metre half cabin to the east of Big Woody Island with 2 adults and 1 child onboard required assistance. They were towed safely back to Urangan.

24th April

An oil alarm caused the person onboard a 4.6 metre tinny near the bottom of Big Woody Island to call for assistance. Our rescue vessel was able to supply an oil top-up and all was ok.

29th February

A 26’ yacht enroute to Tin Can Bay with 1 person onboard experienced engine problems at the top of Big Woody Island and was towed into Urangan for repairs.

5th February

A tinny with 2 persons onboard at the southern end of Big Woody Island was unable to start his engine. The rescue vessel diverted from a training drill to provide a tow back to harbour.   A 7.3m half cabin with 4 persons onboard at the Outer Banks required a tow  back to Urangan.

30th December

A 5.5m vessel broken down NE of Big Woody Island required a tow back to harbour.
